PURPOSE: A parking brake by using a rear hub bearing stem is provided to reduce space and weight by installing an additional parking brake with using a bearing stem of a rear hub bearing. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake(1) is composed of semicircular brake shoes(11) having linings(13) contacted to the outer periphery of a stem(5) of a rear hub bearing(2), and a lever(15) connected by a wire(18) to contact the lining of the brake shoe to the outer periphery of the stem. Brake shoes are faced to each other around the stem, and braking force is formed between the stem of a spindle(3) turning in the rear hub bearing and a rear hub(7) by the parking brake. The brake shoe is moved to the outer periphery of the stem with turning the lever around a hinge pin(16), and friction is formed with contacting the lining to the stem. Parking is performed with restricting rotation of wheels by the brake shoes, the lining and the lever, and braking is released with separating the lining from the stem in relieving the wire. The installation space and the weight are reduced with braking by using the stem of the rear hub bearing.
