PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing a sea-island type conjugate fiber having excellent sea-island cross section formability and low degradation of yarn physical properties by controlling the melt viscosity characteristics of an island component polymer and a sea component polymer is provided. Therefore, the method minimizes dissolution of the sea component and damage of yarn strength by a raising process and produces a product having a good appearance and feeling. CONSTITUTION: A conjugate fiber for raised warp knit fabric is prepared by spinning an alkali-soluble copolymerized polyester as a sea component polymer and polyester having 90% by mole or more of polyethylene terephthalate as an island polymer and then drawing, wherein the melt viscosity of the island component polymer and sea component polymer is controlled to cause a difference(ΔMV9,000) in the island component polymer and sea component polymer in a shear speed of 9,000(1/s) to be 20 to 70% of a difference(ΔMV500) in the island component polymer and sea component polymer in a shear speed of 500(1/s).
