PURPOSE: An access terminal in a wireless LAN and a method for allocating a bandwidth thereof is provided to perform satisfactory quality to a subscriber by allocating a constant bandwidth to a terminal, controlling a contention free period according to a transmission ratio of the terminal and a terminal occupation time. CONSTITUTION: The first bandwidth(T1) has a contention free period and a contention period. The contention free period of the first bandwidth(T1) has one delivery traffic indication message. The contention period of the first bandwidth(T1) has two delivery traffic indication messages. The second bandwidth(T2) is formed with the contention free period having two delivery traffic indication messages and the contention period having one delivery traffic indication message. Accordingly, each bandwidth such as the first bandwidth(T1) and the second bandwidth(T2) has different allocation ratios.
