A container (1), designed for use by astronauts in zero gravity conditions, has at least one end covered by a closure (10) which is deformable elastically in the plane of its surface to allow an object (100) inside the container to be handled or retrieved. The closure has a rigid peripheral supporting structure (50) connected by interlaced elastic elements to a closing member (60) in the form of a supple fabric sleeve.
