PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and its apparatus for preventing lowering of image quality due to uneven graininess and glossiness, and for improving image quality of output image, in gray scale recording. SOLUTION: At the gray scale recording using plural color inks and a black ink, the method and its apparatus make the decisions (S12, S13, S15) based on a previously decided criteria for the gray scale image data. At its first decided result, the gray scale recording is carried out by using the plural color inks (S16). At its second decided result, the gray scale recording is carried out by using the black ink (S17). Thus, the gray scale printing by mixture of the plural color inks and the black ink is avoided. |
