PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the cleaning activity of a ternary catalyst in a low temperature range. SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst comprises a first catalyst obtained by supporting Pd and a basic material on a first porous carrier and a second catalyst obtained by supporting Pd on a second porous carrier. The first catalyst has high olefin-containing exhaust gas cleaning activity and the second catalyst has high paraffin-containing exhaust gas cleaning activity. Since both the catalysts are used in combination, olefin- and paraffin-containing exhaust gas cleaning activity is balanced and CO, HC and NOx can be removed from a lower temperature range. |
