PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique for oxyhydrogen gas cutting or oxyhydrogen piercing which bears comparison with a conventional technique in cutting speed, piercing working hours and quality of a cut surface or the like. SOLUTION: The rate of flow of the oxyhydrogen gas composing preheating gas which is burst from an injection port 5 in cutting is set nearly twice that of oxygen gas. In that case, if the rate of flow of the oxyhydrogen gas is set nearly 700 NL/h or more, or nearly 7 times or less that of the oxygen gas, excellent cutting action is obtained. Furthermore, the rate of flow of the oxyhydrogen gas composing the preheating gas which is burst from the injection port 5 in piercing is set larger than that of the oxygen gas. In that case, if the rate of flow of the oxyhydrogen gas is set nearly 1000 NL/h or more, or nearly 1.5 times or more that of the oxygen gas, excellent piercing action is obtained.
