PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire trap for hunting, capable of lowering the level of its setting and therefore capable of making the level move nearer to the ground, so that the trap is not noticed by a hunting target animal, capable of increasing hunting efficiency, and further capable of easily carrying out wire trap setting for which compression of a spring is required. SOLUTION: This wire trap for hunting is inserted into a pit to be arranged under the ground, wherein a trigger 6A of a trigger mechanism 6 is released by pressing a footboard 5, then a trap 3 made of a wire 7 is strained by extending a coil spring 2, and therefore a foot of the hunting target animal is bundled. Further, the wire trap is so structured as follows: the top face of the footboard 5 is positioned at a level substantially equal to that of the top face of a cap 4 which is contained in a casing body 1, when the coil spring 2 is compressed and subjected to setting; and setting of the coil spring 2 is carried out after the trigger 6A is subjected to setting.
