PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus that can measure the strength of a leg even in such an aged who has little power or weakened bones. SOLUTION: This apparatus is composed of a support means 3 which supports a subject, a stepping-on power reception means 4 which moves in a direction in which the subject extends legs as an axis, a driving means 2 which either accelerates or decelerates the stepping-on power reception means 4 in the same axial direction or drives it reverse, a load measuring means S that measures the load applied onto the subject's sole, a measuring measure 6 which measures either the position, the speed, or the acceleration speed when the subject extends legs, and a control means 6 which controls the driving means 2. The driving means 6 controls the driving means 2 for driving the stepping-on power reception means 4 so that the load measured by the load measuring means S becomes a predetermined fixed force. Different from the case the load is set by controlling the motion of the stepping-on reception means, the means 6 can exclude a possible effect by force of inertia.
