<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optically and accurately detect a shape of a rolling plate in the rolling method capable of preventing a foreign material printing by discharging a liquid on the rolled plate during rolling. SOLUTION: From a spray nozzle on the rolling plate 1 during rolling or from a plurality of spray nozzles aligned in the width direction of the rolling plate 1, a liquid 2 is sprayed over the rolling plate 1 to prevent printing of the foreign material, and at the same time, an image is reflected on the rolling plate 1 full of sprayed liquids, and in the method to detect the shape of the rolling plate 1 from the shape of the image reflected on the rolling plate 1, a ratio (f/h) of the length f (unit: mm) in the rolling plate width direction of the commutating zone occupied by a liquid 2 sprayed from a spray nozzle 3 against the rolling plate width h (unit: mm) is 0.7 or more and an optical shape detecting method for the rolling plate 1 characterized by the fact that both ends portion of the rolling plate 1 is the commutating zone.</p> |
