PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which can uniformly coat the surface of a metal mold with a mold release agent without causing over spray. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for coating the outer surface of a tubular mold with the water-based mold release agent, the distances between the surface of a metal mold A and spray guns 8a, 8b are always kept constant even when the mold size is varied. The surface speed of the tubular outer surface is always kept constant even when the mold size is varied. By selecting the spray concentration of the mold release agent on a double coat section, the amount of the release agent applied per unit area of the mold surface is always kept uniform even when the mold size is varied. Thus, over spray is prevented.
