PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of fixing an ink head and a fixing device therefor which has a simple structure and can be simply operated to accurately position the ink head. SOLUTION: There is disclosed the method of fixing the ink heads 2-5 of black and colors to respective predetermined positions on a carriage 6. When the ink heads 2-5 of black and colors are loaded on the carriage 6, first positioning (X, Y axes directions) for the ink heads 2-5 in a direction perpendicular to a main scanning direction of the carriage 6 is executed at the same time and second positioning (z axis direction) therefor in a direction along the main scanning direction of the carriage 6 is executed at the same time.
