PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve two-color printing having a similar quality as conventional one using a minimum necessary memory capacity. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a RAM 22, a printing head for printing according to printing data, and a control part for controlling the printing head, wherein the RAM 22 comprises a rendering buffer area 30 having a plurality of memory cells aligned in rows and columns, a column status buffer area 31 for storing column status for every column of the rendering buffer area 30, and a row status buffer area 32 for storing row status for every row of the rendering buffer area 30.
