PURPOSE: A device for preventing outflow of slag in the converter is provided to improve quality of products by preventing slag from outflowing into other containers during tapping from a converter or electric furnace. CONSTITUTION: The device for preventing outflow of slag in converter comprises a molten steel outlet(100) which is formed on the lowermost part of the slag outflow preventing dam(50) so that molten steel is flown out through the molten steel outlet(100) and has a shorter diameter than the slag outflow preventing dam(50); molten steel inlets(90) a plurality of which are formed on the circumference of the lower part with being spaced apart from each other in an equal distance so that molten steel is flown into the molten steel inlets(90); a slag outflow preventing dam(50) on which the molten steel outlet(100) and the molten steel inlets(90) are integrally formed, diameter of which is larger than that of the tapping hole of the converter, and which has such a length that the slag outflow preventing dam(50) is not dipped into molten steel; a dam support(60) which is connected to the upper part of the slag outflow preventing dam(50) to support the slag outflow preventing dam(50); and a support action means(70) which is connected to the end part of the dam support(60) to move the dam support(60) back and forth and up and down.
