PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new oxidoreductase which exhibits an asymmetrically reducing performance to an aromatic diketone compound, for example, stereoselectively forms (S)-benzoin when applied to benzil, to provide a new gene encoding the oxidoreductase, to provide a recombinant vector containing the gene, and to provide a transformant transformed by the vector. SOLUTION: This new oxidoreductase is such as to be produced by a Bacillus cereus FERM P-14210 strain. The 2nd objective oxidoreductase gene is obtained by screening from the strain. The 3rd objective recombinant vector is obtained by incorporating the gene into a vector. The 4th objective transformant is obtained by transformation with the vector. |
