PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair with an assisting device for standing up which can be reduced in burden on an user as the chair with an assisting device for standing up can support standing movements made by the user until he/she is almost in an upright posture. SOLUTION: Extending an activating rod 28 rotates the first linkage 18 for moving back of a seat surface into a direction A and the second linkage 20 for moving back of a seat surface into a direction B. A back of the seat surface 7 moves up and forward, while leaning forward, or into a direction C, since a rotating path made by the first linkage 18 for moving back of a seat surface is different from that of the second linkage 20 for moving back of a seat surface. The third linkage 23 for moving an armrest is turned around into a direction D. As the first linkage 18 and the third linkage 23 for moving an armrest form a parallel linkage, an armrest 11 to which an end of a mobile, basic shaft 21 for armrest is attached moves up and forward, or into a direction E, without changing the posture.
