REARING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rearing apparatus capable of providing a carbon source necessary for a denitrification reaction without requiring a separate carbon source, yet decreasing foam generation and reducing water turbidity, having no fear of environmental pollution. SOLUTION: This circulation type rearing apparatus comprises treating water in a rearing tank 1 for rearing fishes and shellfishes by a nitrification tank 2 for nitrifying ammonium in water and a denitrification tank 3 for denitrifying nitrified nitrogen and returning the water to the rearing tank 1. The rearing apparatus is equipped with an organic substance recovery means 4 for recovering an organic solid matter in water and an organic substance supplying means 5 for supplying the recovered organic solid matter to the denitrification tank 3. The organic solid matter can be recovered from water by the organic substance recovery means and the recovered solid matter can be utilized as the carbon source by the denitrification tank.
