PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil coating apparatus which can evenly coat a heating and fixing roll with a release oil, does not cause a layer for controlling the amount of an applied oil to swerve or separate, and is free from oozing of an oil when it is not used. SOLUTION: This apparatus is made by bonding an oil-holding member for holding a silicone oil for coating to a layer for controlling the amount of an applied oil with a mixture of an adhesive and a silicone oil for mixing. The ratio (VKS)/(VTS) of the viscosity (VKS) of the silicone oil for mixing at 25 deg.C to the viscosity (VTS) of the silicone oil for coating at 25 deg.C is (50/1)-(1/10).
