PLATEN GAP ADJUSTER AND RECORDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sustain a substantially invariant constant print quality before and after adjustment of platen gap by adjusting parallelism of all guide members sufficiently thereby preventing deterioration of quality due to shift of print position. SOLUTION: A pair of first and second guide members for moving a carriage carrying a recording head in the main scanning direction are fixed to the bearing sections of left and right side frames of the printer body rotatably through an eccentric shaft section. A platen gap adjusting means for imparting an identical rotational displacement is coupled to the eccentric shaft section of the pair of first and second guide members such that a recording head and the carriage approach to or recede from a print reference plane in parallel. The eccentric shaft sections of both first and second guide members are born by the bearing sections of the left and right side frames at four points independently such that the position can be varied in the approaching/receding direction.
