PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly stop a toilet seat or toilet lid in the open position by a motor-driven open/close device for a toilet seat/lid. SOLUTION: A braking region (between A and C in the figure) is set near the open position of the toilet seat 4, and a velocity evaluation point is set within the braking region (between the A and the C). The toilet seat 4 is controlled by a motor-driven open/close control part 10 so that the angular velocity of the toilet seat 4 at the velocity evaluation point is within a prescribed range.
