PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the execution of high precise detection through comparative ly simple constitution. SOLUTION: When a dresser tool 3 makes contact with a grinding wheel 6, a voltage is generated at a ultrasonic sensor 13. A voltage is induced to a receiving coil 14 by a magnetic field and the generation of a ultrasonic wave can be detected thereby. Different from a conventional type, there is no need for delicate distance regulation between a transmission coil 11 and a receiving coil 14 and reliable detection of a ultrasonic wave is practicable through comparatively simple constitution.
