PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for observing actions of laboratory small animals, capable of acquiring action data of plural laboratory small animals without being affected by a peripheral illumination. SOLUTION: This apparatus for observing actions of laboratory small animals comprises an experimental table 3 for regulating an action zone of the small animals to acquire signals related to the actions of the small animals, a sensor attached to a basic zone unit of the experimental table 3 and a controller which is connected to the sensor, collects and retains the signals acquired by the sensor, and if required, sends an order to the experimental table 3. The sensor attached to the experimental table 3 is a great number of two-dimensionally arranged piezoelectric sensors 32 for collecting data related to positions and behaviors of the laboratory animals and an RFID31 for identifying positions of the laboratory animals and the laboratory animals two-dimensionally arranged on a face under the piezoelectric sensors.
