PURPOSE:To provide a new antibiotic substance NK10958P having excellent herbicidal activity, plant-growth regulating activity and fungicidal activity and produced by a specific microbial strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces and capable of producing NK10958P (FERM BP-1231) is cultured to effect the production and accumulation of the antibiotic substance NK10958P, which is collected from the culture product. The antibiotic substance has physical and chemical properties shown in the table. The new compound NK10958P is adjusted at a concentration of 0.1-99.9%, preferably 0.2-80% as active component in the case of using the compound as agricultural and horticultural herbicide, plant- growth regulator or fungicide. |
