PURPOSE: An apparatus for measuring width and thickness is provided to accurately measure the width and thickness of an object by capturing the signals outputted from a CCD(Charge Coupled Device) camera as the unit of a frame and analyzing the image signals. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring width and thickness comprises a CCD camera(21) to pick up the image of the side of an object(22), a feed screw(24) to move the CCD camera upward and downward to the side of the object, an encoder(26) connected to the feed screw to measure the moving distance of the CCD camera, a frame grabber(27) to receive the output signal of the CCD camera and the output pulse of the encoder and to capture the output signals of the CCD camera by the unit of a frame, and an operating and controlling device(28) to calculate the width of the object by analyzing the images of the frames offered from the frame grabber.
