PURPOSE: A low burst sensor board is provided to eliminate distortion of driving waveform by preventing an unnecessary trigger signal from being generated in changing direction of a linear sensor signal. CONSTITUTION: A trigger generating device of an ink jet printer comprises a detecting unit sensing falling and rising edge signals among linear encode signals; and a pulse generating unit outputting a pulse signal by dividing the detected signal into four sections, and supplying a trigger signal for generating waveform of a head driving amplifier. The trigger signal is generated with turning on at 600 dpi and turning off at 300 dpi by applying digital logic. Unnecessary waveform is eliminated with generating the trigger signal corresponding to dpi. Discharge of ink in the nonprinting area is prevented, and small driving waveform is prevented from being generated in the nonprinting range.
