PURPOSE: A method and a device for remote homepage editing are provided to administer and upgrade a homepage by simple means of adding and editing for the homepage by organic connection between a server and a local PC. CONSTITUTION: The system consists of an FTP(File Transfer Protocol) web server(10), a local PC(20) and an interconnection between the FTP server and the local PC through the Internet and telephone network. The FTP web server comprises of a processing device(11), a server database(12) and a communications interface(13). The server database manages the user information, the homepage information and the RPE(Remote Page Editor) S/W information. The local PC is a computer system with a processing device(21), a storing device(22), an RPE S/W(23), a monitor(24), a mouse(26), a keyboard(25) and a communications interface(27). The local homepage of the user is stored and administered in the storing device, and the local homepage is shared with the corresponding homepage of the web server. The local PC installs the purchased, or downloaded RPE S/W and upgrades the RPE versions by connecting to the web server.
