PURPOSE: A telephone having an auto dialing function and a data automatic modification function is provided to display associated sub lists if a user clicks on an arbitrary main button, which indicates a main business type, to display related shop names if he selects one of the displayed sub lists, and to execute auto dialing to a shop if he selects the name of the shop. CONSTITUTION: A local agency server(10) stores the information of shops and public offices, constructed as a directory with their respective telephone numbers. A telephone(20a-n), in which initial directory information is inputted, has a plurality of busyness type buttons. If a user first pushes a desired business type button to place an order, sub business type names are then displayed through an LCD installed in the telephone(20a-n). If the user selects a desired sub business type name using a selection button, associated shop names are provided. If the user selects one of the displayed shop names, the telephone(20a-n) automatically dials the telephone number of the selected shop.
