PURPOSE: A hydraulic control device of an automatic transmission is provided to prevent interlock fit combination and to prevent lowering of durability of the elements for interlock fit. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic control device of an automatic transmission is equipped with a planetary gear-speed gear achieving gear level by selective interlock fit of at least five interlock fit elements, and a hydraulic control device controlling the interlock fit elements. Among the five interlock fit elements, the first speed is achieved by interlock fit of a first interlock fit element(C-1) and a fourth interlock fit element(B-3), the second speed is achieved by interlock fit of the first interlock fit element and a fifth interlock fit element(B-1), the third speed is achieved by interlock fit of the first interlock fit element and a third interlock fit element(C-3), the fourth speed is achieved by interlock fit of the fourth interlock fit and a second interlock fit element(C-2), the fifth speed is achieved by interlock fit of the second and third interlock fit element, and the sixth speed is achieved by interlock fit of the second and fifth interlock fit element. In achieving each gear level, valves(75,76,77,78) are disposed to the hydraulic control device to prevent the speed gear from interlocking by interlock fit of more than two interlock fit elements.
