PURPOSE: A method for responding to a telephone call in absence in a mobile terminal is provided to automatically store the telephone number for a call received in absence and to automatically dial the stored number at one key input. CONSTITUTION: The second BS(Base Station) checks whether an origination message is received through the first BS from the first MS(Mobile Station)(301). If the first MS called the second MS and transmitted the origination message, the second BS receives it through the first BS and detects the numbers of the first and second MSs from the message(303). Then the second BS judges whether the second MS is in a busy state(305). In case that the second MS is not in the busy state, the second BS creates an alert with information message signal(307) and transmits it to the first MS(309). Then the second BS checks whether a connection command is received from the second MS(311). If the connection command is received, the second BS forms a speech path with the first MS through the first BS(315). However, in case that the connection command is not received, the second BS checks whether all the caller number was transmitted through the alert with information message signal(315).
