PREPARATION OF DIOXIN REMOVAL ADSORBENT FROM COKE BREEZE

PURPOSE: A method of preparing an adsorbent for dioxin removal using coke breeze is provided to apply coke breeze that is generated as byproduct in steelmaking industries instead of costly activated carbon. CONSTITUTION: The preparation method of an adsorbent for dioxin removal using coke breeze includes the steps of: (i) blending coke breeze having a particle size distribution of less than 1μm with binders such as coal tar pitch and petroleum pitch at a weight ratio of 9 : 1; (ii) forming the blend into the shape of pellet; (iii) heat-treating the blend at 200deg.C for 30min for solidification and further heating at 250deg.C for 30min for surface oxidation.
