PURPOSE: Provided are a neuron protector which inhibits apoptosis induced by excitotoxicity such as NMDA, AMPA, kainate and the like, and its manufacturing method. CONSTITUTION: The neuron protector, complestatin, is manufactured by steps of: identifying and culturing Streptomycessp.60190 strain(KCTC 0843 BP) which produces a neuron protector; then extracting aromatic peptide complestatin, which is represented by the formula(I) and has apoptosis inhibiting and neuron protecting activities, therefrom.
