PURPOSE: A device for inputting and scanning 3 dimensional image is provided to scan exactly in a short time. CONSTITUTION: The method includes a contact detect device(40) possessing a first and second probe(10,12), and a recording device(50) storing the scanning data. After coating the conducting liquid on the outer surface of an object, the first probe electrically connects to the one point of the object. As the second probe moves to the first direction toward the outer surface of the object, the state of the electrical connection between the first and second probe is checked. In case of the first and second probe are connected electrically, the position of the second probe is recorded in the recording device and the second probe moves against the first direction. After changing the relative position to the second probe on the plain perpendicular to the first direction, the steps of checking the electrical connection state and recording the position of the second probe is repeated.
