PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for canceling an MAI(Multiple Access Interference) in a multi-carrier CDMA system is provided to effectively remove an MAI, having an effect on the performance of the whole multi-carrier CDMA system, through the cancellation of cross correlation between despreading codes. CONSTITUTION: A receiver in a multi-carrier CDMA system is comprised of frequency converters(211-21k), matched filter banks(221-22k), decorrelation filters(231-23k), a combiner(24), and a determiner(25). The frequency converters(211-21k) multiply a signal(r(t)), received from a transmitter, by M numbers of different sine waves and execute down-conversion for them. The matched filter banks(221-22k) multiply the down-converted signals by K numbers of despread codes and outputs narrowband signals after matching and filtering. The decorrelation filters(231-23k) compare and remove the cross correlation between the multiplied despread codes and cancel interference components dependent on the phase differences between the narrowband signals outputted from the matched filter banks(221-22k). The combiner(24) combines the output signals outputted from the decorrelation filters(231-23k) in the form of a matrix. The determiner(25) integrates and demodulates the signals outputted from the combiner(24) and determines and extracts desired data signals. |
