PURPOSE: A power recovery system and a driving method thereof for plasma display panel is provided to apply low sustain voltage thus to minimize power consumption by supplying voltage corresponding to two times of sustain voltage to a panel capacitor. CONSTITUTION: A power recovery system(50,52) for plasma display panel reuses voltage charged in a capacitance load formed between scanning/sustain electrode line and common sustain electrode line as next discharge voltage. The power recovery system comprises an inductor(L), a first switching device, a sustain voltage source(Vsus), and a second switching device. The inductor is installed between the capacitance load and an external capacitor to form the capacitance load and a resonance circuit. The first switching device is serially connected between the inductor and the external capacitance. The sustain voltage source supplies voltage to the external capacitor. The second switching device is formed between the sustain voltage source and the external capacitor. |
