PURPOSE:To fundamentally prevent generation of the surface flaws of a stainless steel sheet by injecting a lubricant prepd. by incorporating an aq. soln. of a glass compsn. into oil to roll surfaces at the time of hot rolling of the stainless steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:The generation of the surface flaws during hot rolling is prevented by dispersing the aq. soln. of the glass compsn. into the oil and rolling the stainless steel sheet while injecting the aq. soln. onto the roll surfaces so as to decrease the friction at the contact boundaries between the rolls and the rolling stock. The glass compsn. refers to a phosphoric acid and its salt, boric acid and its salt as well as the carbonate, nitrate, phosphate, borate and hydroxide, etc., of alkaline metals. The glass compsn. consisting of 40 to 55mol% P2O5, 30 to 60mol% M2O (M is an alkaline metal) and 6 to 9mol% B2O3 is more adequate in the method for preventing the surface flaws of the stainless steel sheet. |
