PURPOSE: A data transmitting/receiving method for preventing a free character list exhaustion in a TICOM system is provided to use modules in a data transmission by appending a module for recording the use number of a character list of each terminal port and appending a module for ignoring input data with an alarm message in the case that a variable and the use number are deviated from a normal range whenever a character list is allocated and a discharged. CONSTITUTION: If data of an operation system are output(S101), the data are stored in a transmission queue, and it is judged whether the capacity of the transmission queue is insufficient(S102). If the capacity of the transmission queue is insufficient, a character list as much as the insufficient capacity is allocated in a free character list pool, and the allocated number is counted(S103). A transmitting queue transmits data from the transmission queue to a transmission buffer, and it is judged whether the capacity of the transmission queue is left(S104). If the capacity of the transmission queue is left, the remaining character list is discharged to the free character list pool and discounted from the counted value(S105).
