The invention relates to a two-handed barbell machine wherein the weight elements, preferably weight discs (3) are placed symmetrically with respect to the vertical axis (5) on vertically aligned receivers (4) that are disposed on an annular base plate (1). Two lengthwise adjustable arms (8a) that can be tilted about the horizontal axis (10) and twisted about the longitudinal axis are mounted symmetrically with respect to the vertical axis (5). The user is positioned in the recess of the base plate (1) and guides the barbell by means of the handles fastened on the arms. Supports (2) that are preferably length-adjustable serve to support said barbells.
