Provision of a novel culture medium for stem cells and a culture method by using the same. A culture medium including human Notch ligand protein as an effective ingredient and a method for growing human stem cells by using this culture medium. A growth factor may be used together with a human Notch ligand protein. By using the method of the present invention, the number or frequency of such human stem cells, such as these having SRC (Scid Repopulating Cells) activity, or as one characterized by the CD34 positive, CD38 negative and lineage antigens negative properties, can be amplified. |
