Method and composition for controlling marsupial pests comprising calcium homeostasis disruption agent and a stress inducing agent

The method to control marsupial pests comprises stressing the marsupial and disrupting calcium homeostasis in the marsupial. The stressing step may by effected by activating the GABA receptors in the marsupial, and may be achieved by use of a chemical agent or by physically stressing the pest using noise or lights. Calcium homeostasis may be disrupted with a chemical agent, such as cholecalciferol or a salt. The bait composition for controlling pests comprises a calcium homeostasis-disrupting agent; and a stress-inducing chemical agent selected from GABA receptor activating substances, catecholamine and glucocorticoids.
