Mineral wool composition having a silicon dioxide content of 38-52%wt and an alumina content of 16-23%wt

A biodegradable mineral wool comprises: a) 38-52% by weight SiO2; b) 16-23% by weight Al2O3; c) 4-15% by weight RO (CaO + MgO) d) 16-25% by weight R2O (Na2O + K2O) e) 0-10% by weight B2O3; f) 0-3% by weight Fe2O3; g) 0-3% by weight P2O5 and h) 0-2% by weight TiO2. A thermal and/or acoustic insulation product or soil less culture substrate contains at least a part of the above defined mineral wool.
