The invention relates to a system for checking passengers in air transport, employing a checking chair mountable in any kind of airplane all over the world, used for detecting hidden suspect metal objects (D1...D2), conventional explosives (DES1....DES6), radioactive substances (DGM) which may endanger the crew, the passangers and the airplane during hijacking or terrorist attacks. The chair also has some detection means meant to sense the suspect emotional status (DTR1 and DTR2). The signals received from the detection means (D1...D6, DES1...DES6, DGM, DTR1 and DTR2) are fed to an electronic circuit and transmitted to an interface (SAD) coupled with an IBM or compatible PC which displays on a monitor (M) the place where hidden suspect objects or substances are located by using an adequate software and signals acoustically in the headset (C). There is also provided the option of immobilizing the suspect by means of the immobilizing electrode (EI).
