PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly predict the time required for printing a document beforehand. SOLUTION: In this printing control device for controlling a printer, connected by a network to print an electronic document, is provided with an imaging part 406 for preparing a printing image of the document, a printing sheet number calculating means 406a for calculating the number of pages for each size of a sheet from the printing image prepared and calculating the number of printing sheets for each size of the sheet by multiplying the number of pages by the number of printing sheets, and a printing time calculating part 405a for calculating the printing time required to print the document, from the number of printing sheets for each size of the sheet and printing performance of the printer for each size of the sheet. The printing time is calculated, also taking into consideration the difference in the printing performance by a printing method, such as both surfaces printing or single-surface printing, and a paper delivery method, such as sheets are sorted or stapled, as well as the size of the paper. |
