PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system, an authentication terminal, an authentication server, and an authentication method the security of which is high and which is capable of identifying a user, using a card. SOLUTION: An authentication terminal 2 for reading data included in a card and an authentication server 3 are connected to a network 4, so that the user of a card (for example, a credit card 5) can be authenticated in this authentication, system (for example, a credit card authentication system 1). The card is provided with an enciphered picture 6, in which the identification information of the user of the card and the user information are enciphered into codes (for example, two-dimensional bar codes 7 and 8) having specific colors so as to be concealed, and the authentication terminal reads the enciphered image from the card, and extracts the image having the specific colors corresponding to the identification information for acquiring the codes, and decodes the codes for acquiring the identification information. When the acquired identification information agrees with the input information inputted by the user, the data read from the card are transmitted to the authentication server, and the authentication server generates the authenticated result of the user based on the received data, and transmits the authenticated result signal to the authentication terminal, based on the authenticated result. |
