PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconfigure a network with excellent communication performance by avoiding the occurrence of a loop even when the loop exists in the configured network. SOLUTION: When a loop exists in the network, a Manager being a unit in the loop instructs return of self-information to a Child (S301). Then the Manager grasps the topology of the entire network on the basis of the returned self-information (S303) to retrieve an optimum network configuration to avoid the loop (S305). That is, the Manager interrupts the loop to extract network candidate to be configured and to calculate each communication performance on the basis of a communication speed of each unit. As a result, the Manager selects the network configuration providing the best communication performance. The Master gives a Disable instruction of a designation port to Disable object units on the basis of the selected network configuration (S307) and issues a Bus-Rset (S309).
