PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the sign function of a road sign column at snowstorm time and snowfall time by heightening the height of an existing road sign column, restraining sticking of snow to a light reflecting area, and shaking down the snow sticking to the light reflecting area. SOLUTION: This height increasing auxiliary tool has an auxiliary tool body 22 capable of heightening the height of the road sign column 10 by being fitted to and installed in an upper end part 12 of the road sign column 10 and a wiping-out member 50 installed on the auxiliary tool body 22 and exhibiting the action of restraining sticking of the snow to the light reflecting area 23 of the auxiliary tool body 22 and shaking down the sticking snow. The wiping- out member 50 has a large number of irregularly rockable suspending pieces suspended in a shop curtain shape.
