The invention relates to seal for authenticating objects. Said seal comprises a layer consisting of at least two materials, with respectively different electric conductivity, whereby structures formed from the two or more materials are arranged in a unique manner. The invention also comprises elements for detecting a conductive pattern which is created in the layer as a result of the arrangement of the structures. The invention also relates to a method for producing a seal, comprising the following steps: application of at least two substances, with respectively different electric conductivity, to a backing material; arrangement of at least two substances in a layer to form a unique pattern of structures, thus producing a unique conductive pattern; and positioning of elements for detecting the conductive pattern in the layer. Finally, the invention relates to a method for verifying the authenticity of an inventive seal to be analysed, said method comprising the following steps: determination of a conductive pattern of the layer by means of the elements provided for this purpose; comparison of the determined conductive pattern with a conductive pattern that is expected for the seal to be analysed; and determination of the authenticity or non-authenticity of the analysed seal, using the correspondence between the determined and expected conductive patterns.
