PURPOSE: An apparatus for testing a power device of an electronic time switch and a method thereof are provided, which can check an operation of the time switch during a random time by operating a random button while the time switch is blocked. CONSTITUTION: An analog/digital converter part(11) converts an analog current of an external power device into a digital current if an operation switch of the external power device is turned on for testing. A central processing part(12) checks a state of an output current of the analog/digital converter part during a fixed time by a user to operate an operation switch. And a control part(13) outputs a control signal by receiving an output signal of the central processing part as a driving signal. A relay part(15) is turned on/off according to the output signal of the control part and controls a current supply to the external power device, and a state display part(14) receives the control signal of the control part and displays a state according thereof. During an ordinary time, the central processing part outputs every kinds of states to an output part(16), and a timer part(12a) of the central processing part operates during an ordinary time, and stores time data to a memory part(12c) with a fixed time interval of 1 minute.
