SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is characterized in that the display device is provided with an electrode base material having a film 10, an adhesive layer 12 formed on the film 10, a light shielding layer 14 buried in the adhesion layer 12 and patterned in a stripe shape, an organic protective layer 16 formed on the light shielding layer 14 and the adhesive layer 12 and having film thickness greater than that of the light shielding layer 14 and the transparent electrode 18 which is patterned on the protective layer 16 in a stripe shape parallel to the pattern of the light shielding layer 12 and in which the width between the patterns is narrower than that of the light shielding layer 14 and a part of the pattern overlaps the pattern of the light shielding layer 14.
