<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip resistor which is very accurate in resistance value and improved both in resistor characteristics such as noise characteristics and in productivity, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A resistor 4 of thin film is formed extending from the one of the board 1 to the other opposed end on the surface of an insulating board 1 which is formed of alumina or the like and rectangular on a plan view. Upper thick film electrodes 21 (21a and 21b) and 31 (31a and 31b) and back electrodes 22 and 32 are formed on the surfaces of the edges and rear of the insulating board 1 respectively as being connected to the ends of the resistor 4, and the upper electrodes and back electrodes are electrically connected together with thick film electrodes such as side electrodes 23 and 33. A protective film 5 (51 to 53) is provided on the surface of the resistor 4.</p> |
