PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cheap dynamic pressure type bearing unit with high precision. SOLUTION: The dynamic pressure type bearing unit comprises a shaft member 2 having a shaft 2a and a flange portion 2b; and a bearing member 7 arranged in an outer periphery of the shaft member 2. The shaft member 2 is supported in no-contact with the bearing member 7 in a radial direction and in a thrust directing by dynamic pressure generated by relative rotation of the shaft member 2 and the bearing member 7. The shaft 2a and the flange portion 2b are formed in one unit, and a thrust bearing surface 11a having dynamic pressure grooves is formed on at least an end surface 2b1 facing the bearing member 7.
